PMIO output makes noise on log in on OS 10.7

Just updated to OS 10.7.4, PT 10.02 and updated the firmware on the PMIO to 1.10.5. While you log in and as the mac does the firewire handshake PMIO monitor outputs noise/crackles for a few seconds until Protools is launched. My client isn't too happy about that. Anyone else having this problem? Forgive me, I'm a PT tech and have little experience with the PMIO. Why in the world this thing doesn't have a physical monitor mute , like the 002/003's, instead of the control panel software one is beyond me.
