ProFire 610 - Crackle during playback on iMac

I've had my ProFire 610 for about a year or more and never had any problems with it.
This past month, every time after about 2 minutes of playback it starts crackling so much that I have to reboot the whole system. And then again, after 2 minutes.......

P.S. Already downloaded and installed all new drivers.

driver problem

Hi, has anyone got any ideas to help me? I have a profire2626 running with windows xp and cubase4. Always worked fine until recently. The problem is now that I have to reinstall the drivers everytime I use it. I get a scratchy distorted sound if I don't. I have tried reinstalling the original cd drivers but this doesn't work, I have removed these and tried the driver updates - this works sometimes. It only works everytime now I have reinstalled the original drivers from the cd and installed the updates everytime I need to use the profire :-(all ideas greatfully appreciated...other than buy a mac...;)

problem with audiophile firewire

I've bought a new computer Sony Vaio VPCF1 with windows 7 64 installed
I use M-Audio Audiophile firewire with Traktor 2 Pro and Vestax VCI 100.

I tried to use this configuration but it doesn't work.
I've already downloaded all the new drivers
When i was using Mac i had no problem
It only works with internal audio device.

Can somebody help me?

Control Panel shows clipping-software doesn't

Help! The gain on my FW-410 Control Panel shows clipping when my output of my Nuendo 3 does not show clipping. The whole setup is distorting much more that it used to. Is there a way to calibrate the M-Audio Control Panel to match the output of my recording software? This is an issue that seems to have just started happening. I have re-installed the Control Panel drivers twice. I have used the reset on the Control Panel numerous times. I have tried to find a reference in the PDF owners manual to be able to adjust the signal through the interface software. What am I missing here? I am trying to get a project mixed and I am so limited. Everything clips too easily. Song mixes that I mixed months ago that do not clip in other CD players are now clipping when I bring them into my software and play back at unity gain.

my computer does not recognized my profire 610

my profire 610 can not be recognized by my system and three other computer i have tried it on, i have tried it on every fire-wire card i have and yesterday, i purchased another firewire card and still no solution. i have tried every thing in the manual, i have search through this forum and the internet for a solution but still no success. pleas, does any body have a solution this problem.

Firewire 1814 + Octane with Macbook pro 10.7.4

Dear Moderators and members of this forum,

I have a Firewire 1814 that is working fine with my computer (MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 with OSX 10.7.4)

Recently I also got an Octane Preamp and I now am trying to connect it to the 1814. I have tested the preamp and all analog ins and outs work fine. Can't seem to get things routed to the ADAT though.
I'm sure it may be something really simple but I could not figure it out by myself.
I do not know if it could be a driver problem or just something with it's internal routing.
Also, the light meters on the front panel are unresponsive, but the pads work.
Do you guys have any idea how to solve those issues?
Of course, I could just use 1/4" cables to connect both devices, but I still want to have the ADAT option available if I need it.

Reamping bogner, Reaper, 2626, Little labs red eye

Hey guys my first time here my names Paul and I’m new to reaper as well. I have searched all over for how two’s on reamping. I could really use some help fast.
For some reason it sounds like as if you plugged straight in and your guitar was turned down half way. So I turn up the track slider and it gets closer but still not "right" I’m trying to attach some diagrams of how it’s running. I have all monster studio link cables coming out of 2626 from balanced trs to xlr and trs to trs from red eye to front of amp. also Im hearing my orignal dry track coming through my moniters at the same time unless I mute that in the 2626 mixer.
Is there somthing i should be messing with on the little labs I see a hole that says "pad" and some other thing i played around with. Anyway thanks in advance!

So I could use a good walk through and some help to make sure it’s all working right.

SPDIF Issues

Hi,

I'm new here, so I don't know if this has been discussed or not...

Just bought a Profire 2626 and I'm having issues with the SPDIF input.

I have a Pod HD 500, which is connected via a SPDIF cable from its output into the input of the breakout cable that came with the interface.

The issue is that I can't get any sound in Pro Tools from the inputs 25 or 26. I know the routing in the control panel of the Profire is quite complicated, I can't seem to get around it!

I'm on a Mac Book Pro, OS X 10.6.8 using Pro Tools 8.0.4.

Profire 2626 & Rosetta 200

I'm willing to connect my Rosetta 200 to my Profire 2626 through ADAT ins & outs.
What about the setting of the Profire Contro Pannel ? I want to feed the output signal to my mixer YAMAHA 02R. Should I connect the analog audio outputs of the Profire to my mixer or using the analog outputs of the Rosetta ? I want the best connection in order to use AD-DA Apogee converters.

Using outputs of ProFire 2626 via ADAT??

Hi,

I've connected my ProFire 2626 (standalone) to my ProjectMix (using PM it as my Firewire DAW interface) through ADAT and recording is working perfectly, doubling my XLR inputs to 16.

I haven't managed to find a successful way to route audio to the outputs of my ProFire 2626 through another ADAT cable and port so I can take advantage of the ProFire's outputs for a larger number of headphone mixes. The 4 outputs of the ProjectMix don't give me what I need unfortunately. It would be great to avail of the ProFire's 8. Routing in ProTools seems correct.

I assume that this is possible to do but I may be doing something wrong? I suspect it has a lot to do with the ProFire's routing software but I can't find a solution.

Can't route analog in 3/4 back

A new Profire 610, Win XP SP3. Works fine from front mic/inst. Analog out 1/2 work fine. I get nothing sent back to the PC when I run into analog 3/4 in. From analog out 1/2 screen, Software return 1/2 are on and up. Analog in 3/4 are on and up. Master vol is up. I fire up any one of several spectrum analyzer tools and turn on a generator. Bars pop up right as expected. Only noise is displayed in the applications. The only thing that effects it at all is if I max the front panel mic pots, the noise shifts right at max. I tried turning every darn thing on. Nothing.

No Sound after awakening from sleep (Mac OS X)

Yes, I used search on forum and found some similar threads. But still, i have a question and i want to understand it clearly)

I have:
Model: iMac 27” (Mid-2011)
OS: 10.8
CPU: 3.4 GHz Core i7
Memory: 8GB (2 X 4GB)
M-Audio Products: FireWire 610 (2.3.3 driver)

When my Mac returns from sleep it doesn't play any sound. And since i am using alarm on Mac, i can't shutdown it, only put to sleep.

So i ask youth answer me, can this problem be solved? Cause if not - i will need to exchange this interface on money in two weeks(

FW-410 not powering up on PC laptop

I have searched the forum for an answer to the hardware problem I am having - no luck so far.

Tested and working ok on mac via standard firewire (which as you know does not need Power Supply Unit).

On my PC laptop I'm using the firewire adapter (together with Power Supply Unit) - no lights on the front panel come up.

On the rear panel the I can see a red LED light behind the S/PDIF TOSLINK IN AND OUT CONNECTORS

So the Power Supply seems to be working.

When I first connect the power supply unit to the FW-410 there is a flash of lights on the front panel for a fraction of a second. The FW-410 is not being seen by the PC at all & I have removed & re-installed the drivers as suggested by the M-Audio knowledge base.


I have used this setup for years & only just recently wanted to use this setup again for an important project after a year of non-use.

Any advice??

O/S: Win XP SP2

Hi everyone,

I am running W7 64bit,
16gb
Intel Core i7 - 2600K CPU @ 3.40Ghz 3.40Ghz

I have used the 610 for about 4 years two years on windows XP & and now on the above PC with no issues at all.

But today all of a sudden it just crashed and I cannot get it back up and running.

It powers up but the PC cannot detect it.

I have reinstalled drivers.

What else can I do?

ProjectMix I/O desk

If you're like me and have been looking for a desk that would fit the PMIO, you wouldn't find any so.. I came up with a simple design that enables you to fit the PMIO, a few gear, a patchbay, and also a space to enclose the computer.

You just need to find a good woodworker and you'll have your desk :)
