m audio profire 610 - turn the stereo digital input (spdif ) into two mono inputs

In the manual sais that profire 610 has 6 mono inputs. There are two inputs in the front panel and two at the back panel. So there are two more inputs remaining.As far as I know, there is a digital input (spdif ) that is a stereo input. My question is if there is a way to have two mono inputs from the stereo digital input. I use reason 6 and in the input options (mono) you can choose spdif left or spdif right.

I have two guitar effect prosecors with digital outputs and I want to know if I can connect both of them into profire 610 through spdif input , sending two mono signals into the stereo digital input.

I have found a cable that I supose it could work ,but I want to be sure before purchasing it.

M-Audio fire wire 410, compatible with Windows 8? compatible with laptop without fire

I have an M-audio 410 Fire Wire, and i just bought a new ASUS laptop without a firewire port and with windows 8... How can i still use my card with the new laptop?? I also couldn't find any drivers that support windows 8... Could anyone help plz!

HI,

I have just set up a new pc and would like to use my profire 610. However, there are no drivers yet. Do you have any information on when the drivers will be available? When it takes very long I would prefer to buy a new Windows 8 compatible audio interface...

Connect Profire 2626 to an USB interface through ADAT.

Hello guys,
It's been now 5 months since I have been trying to figure out a way to get my profire 2626 to work with the texas instrument chipset on a HP laptop. I just gave up. This will never work. I was working with a LSI chipset with a latency a little higher but still it was not a big deal, however its far from what I always imagined to get for latency from a profire. Last week my HP laptop died and I had to buy a new one on black friday. The problem is that I don't have any firewire inputs in this new laptop. And before you curse the hell out of me, I really wanted to have bought a macbook pro with firewire but I couldn't afford it yet.

Would you guys help me on understanding if I got an USB interface or a Usb mixer with ADAT inputs I could connect my profire 2626 to it and record the 8 channels that it provides using the Octane preamp quality and its features?

I don't know if I made this post a little bit confusing but what I intend to do is the following:

Profire 2626 ADAT Out >>>>>>>>>>>> ADAT In of USB Mixer/Interface >>>>> To computer THROUGH USB.

Do you guys think this would be a workaround for my issue?

I really appreciate any help on this.

ProjectMix I/O control panel won't enable ADAT optical under WinVista x64

Does anyone know why I cannot enable the optical ADAT inputs or outputs on my ProjectMix under Vista x64 SP2?
I try clicking on them to change from SPDIF and nothing will stick. I'm trying to run 8 channels (for surround playback) into a MOTU 896 I/O.
I had this working once upon a time under Vista x32, and even saved the CP setup for reload as needed, but to no avail.
The current drivers are 5.10.0.5058. (latest)
Current Firmware is 10.19.05.A (latest)
Any advice would be appreciated.

Profire 610 & P.T. 9 No Waveform During Recording

What Up All... I am using the M-Audio Profire 610 with Pro Tools HD9 on my PC laptop, with a dedicated External Hard Drive for recording. All of my hardware and software is new/legal and I did a fresh clean install of my O/S. I installed the Profire 610 Hardware/Software and it is recognized on my computer. I installed Pro Tools HD9 without any problems, and it did recognize my Profire 610, and it loads completely. I optimized my system (the best I could) for the best performance. The problem I am having is when I try to record anything, there is no waveform. My meters are registering and I can set levels, but it does not record anything. I checked the "Playback Engine" settings and there is only one device in there, my Profire 610. I am sure there is more info you might need from me before assisting, so please ask away. I just got this equipment and I would love to start using it. I read all hard copy and online instructions I could find, but could not cure my problem. Anyone have any suggestions/idea's/cure(s)?

ProjectMix - inputs 7 and 8 out of order - schematics?

Hello!

I recently aquired a used ProjectMix. Now it turned out that inputs 7 and 8 are defect. They hiss, regardless which input is used (XLR, line), etc.

I'd like to open up the device to have a look at the inputs, but I thought I ask, if someone has done that before and has some hints regarding the openening process. Perhaps someone has taken photos or so...

Additionally, does someone know, if any publicly available schematics exist?

Profire 610, Win7, missing ASIO driver after installation

Hi,
I've installed my PF610 and SSD4 with SaviHost. In the wave device list there is no ASIO option with PF610 only MME and DS. I tried to update the driver but no success. What could be wrong?
I use a Dell Vostro 1310 2GHz 4GB 320GB and a StarTech FireWire ExpresCard with TI chipset.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

FW 410 is no longer detected after Mac OS 10.6.8 update

Greetings!

Since I updated my Macbook Pro (late 2010) drivers to the 10.6.8 version, my FW410 is no longer detected. The strange thing is that right after the update was complete, is wasn´t necessary to reboot my MBP (wich most of the times is) and the interface was working fine. Is was only after shutting down my computer to go to sleep (sometimes I need to sleep :D) that it was no longer detected. I´ve tried to install/uninstall the drivers (several versions, in fact), use different firewire cables, connect the interface with the MBP on and off to see if there was any change, but until now I couldn´t make it work.

Another strange thing that happens, is that sometimes the blue (on) led flashes, the two red (input cliping) led´s also flashes and sometimes the three of them flash at the same time.... weird.

After spending a couple of hours trying to solve this, tomorrow I will try to downgrade my MBP OS and see if it solves my problem...just when I most needed it :(

Is it just me, or does anyone had theses kind of problems?

Any tip would be extremely helpful!

I have the Profire 2626 and recently I was using but one day all the lights were on and my computer does not recognize the interface. Any suggestions?

My Profire 2626 fell during a live record, I checked and everything seemed to be fine at the time, the recording went on without a problem (I mix on another computer, so everything was fine). Today I took it to record at a studio and the audio wasn't coming out, on both headphone outputs and the outputs in the back the sound was very low, I had to plug it on a mixer and turn the volume all the way to hear anything.

I'm from Brazil and there is no M-Audio tech support near where I live. Other than the volume problem everything is normal, the mixer levels are normal and everything is still working. Maybe the phone amplifier might be broken or something like that but I'm no expert and I didn't opened it yet. Did anyone ever had a similar problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

256 vs 64 buffer

When monitoring a dry vocal, not wet, is there any benefit of a 64 buffer or is 256 still in the range of absolutely zero latency?

Secondary question. As of recently, stacking vocals are no longer sounding 'natural', they're a ton more alienated an funneled sounding than they used to be. Anybody have any idea what it could possibly be? Maybe some setting somewhere that may of been changed? Currently recording @ 44.1/256 buffer through an Avalon 737sp/DBX 160XT compressor to the ProFire then back out to a louder headphone amp.

Profire 2626 Logic assigning i/o Logic Pro 9

Hello,

My current setup is as follows :

Three profire 2626's linked optically for 24 i/o
Macbook Pro running logic pro 9
Yamaha m2000 40 channel mixer

I have an external mixer and am trying to run every track separate out to the mixer through the analog outs on the profire back into the line jacks on the yamaha.

I am only having a problem with analog outputs 1 and 2. I cannot figure out how to set it so that it outputs like the other tracks. I tried setting logics stereo outputs as 25/26 and still it says 1 and 2 are a paired stereo output.

Is there a setting i need to change on the profire menu? Or is this a logic issue?

any help is greatly appreciated!

No throughput on FireWire 410?

I have an M-Audio FireWire 410 interface, on an iMac running Mountain Lion 10.8.2. 4 GB RAM, built-in FireWire interface. I've had problems where audio would quit working, but restarting and re-booting seemed to clear that up.

Throughput was working - I could plug my guitar into the interface, and I'd get sound out of my powered monitors, using line outs 1 and 2. Occasionally, I could get sound out of GarageBand, too...but now I'mnot getting any throughput sound out of the device at all. Input from the Mac works fine, but input from the front bus inputs (1 or 2) doesn't seem to work at all. Any clues?

Cant change projectmix buffer setting in Cubase 5

Hi, When I change the Projectmix buffer settings to something higher Cubase puts it back to 256 as soon as the project starts to play. Ive tried closing Cubase and then changing the buffer settings from the m-audio FW control panel and re-opening Cubase but it defaults back to 256. anybody know how to fix this?

How to use the new IMAC 2012 with Profire 610 and 2626/ No firewire support

Up to now, I've been using a Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with Profire 610 or 2626 to create music. I've been wanting to upgrade to an IMAC i5 but I realized that the new IMAC 2012 does not have firewire. Does it mean that we won't be able to use the Profire 610 or 2626 on these IMACs? Is there something that can be done or do I have to change my soundcards too (WHich I have bought only few months back????:mad:)
