Can you hook up a computer mic to the inputs of a Firewire Audiophile

I have the necessary adapters but no signal seems to come in at the Firewire Control Panel. Of course with the convoluted layout of this thing who would know where to look? Any normal person would look for Input and for the plug number. But hey...this is music equipment so logic seems to be totally tossed out the window.

Anyway, is this even possible? Or is the input level too low for the device to pickup? Works great when plugged into the computer mic input of course.
