FL Studio & ProjectMix I/O

Hello everybody!
So, I finally found the way to maximize sync between my favourite daw - FL Studio and this great device!
I installed MIDIOX utility, MIDI Yoke driver (get both here: http://www.midiox.com/ it's free) and made profile for remap controllers of surface for most needed functions of FL studio, supported via MCU protocol.
Unfortunately, last version was released on 29th of JAN '11, but it also works on Windows 8, so you can use it.
  1. Install MIDI Yoke first. For Windows 8 use Compatibility troubleshooting mode running
  2. Install MIDIOX (You'd better do this after you installed FL &ProjectMix drivers), it's very simple at all.
  3. Load mapping profile from here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/29818891/fl2ctrl.ini
  4. In FL Studio select MIDI Input Device "Out from MIDI Yoke 1", controller type - Mackie Control Universal
  5. Select MIDI Output device "ProjectMix I/O Control Surface", port #102
  6. Control mapping is described at this scheme: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/29818891/Scheme.jpg. You can print it, cut out openings by RED lines and cover right side of the surface. LED indicators of this section don't work correctly, but I'm still trying to fix it. Here's vector original of the scheme (CorelDRAW X6 format: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/29818891/M-...O%20CURVES.cdr

Really hope this subject will be useful for somebody!
Cheers!

Profire 610 macbook pro recording problem

Hi all,

I recently bought the profire 610 to make simple audio recordings of my youth choir.
Unfortunately I can't get it to work for recording.

I installed the most recent drivers and my MacBook Pro recognises the profire.
It is installed with a firewire 400 to 800 adaptor (http://store.apple.com/us/product/HA...to-6-pin-cable)

The problem starts when I want to record.
First of all, I’m a beginner at the, previously I recorded through the mic connection of the laptop, but in my new MacBook Pro there is none.

For starts I’m trying to record with audacity or garageband.
later I would like to buy Logic Pro.

My set up is: sound source (JBC pmd 12) ==> Line input 3 and 4 at the rear panel. MacBook Pro connected with firewire.
I here stereo sound through my headset which is connected to the front panel.

When I start recording at Audacity or Garageband, I get a flat line, no sound. (sound input in both programs is set to profire.

Can anyone help me. Is there a special setting needed in the M-Audio Profire control panel?
I see Analog inputs 3&4 lighting up when I send sound.

Thanks for the help.

Profire 610 - Logic - Help!

Hello All!

I'm fairly new to recording but quite good with computers and technology. I've spent a few days searching this forum and Google for help with what is probably (read: hopefully!) an easy question for someone with experience.

I have a Profire 610, the latest version of Logic Pro and an iMac running 10.8.2. I have installed the latest drivers from the M-Audio website.

I want to record a single guitar, just to test things out but cannot get it to really work. Here is what I have done so far...

I have gone into Logic and set the input and output to my Profire 610. I have then plugged in my electric guitar into input 4 on the back and my headphones into output 1 on the back. When I go into the M-Audio system pref, after turning up input 4 under the Analog Out 1/2 tab, I can see 3 green bars when I play and if I strain my ears, can just hear some output.

My question is, is this configured right and if so, how do I make it louder?

Thank you for your time!

I have been playing around with my1814 trying to get either my Vizio Tv or my Ps3 connected via the optical output on either to the input on my 1814. Is it even possible? So far the 1814 won't even register that it is receiving input from either device. Any tips or does it not do that.

Audio drops out on Firewire 410

I've been having this issue for a little while, where the sound will be working perfectly for awhile, then it will drop out. It will happen with all of my programs, such as Sonar 7, FL Studio, WMP/Spotify, and even while on the internet. I have to close all of my programs, turn the 410 off and turn it back on to get it to work.

I've reinstalled the drivers four or five times, I have all of the default inputs set to Line 1/2, and I'm using a TI ieee 1394 firewire card. I'm currently running on Windows 7 Premium Home 64 (SP1), but it has occurred with Vista 32 as well.

Any ideas?

ProFire 610 Firewire Question

Currently my laptop has a firewire 4-pin insert and I'm aware the ProFire 610 will work with the 4-pin so long as I use the power supply with it, however I bought the unit used without the power supply. Now my question is I have an express card slot that isn't being used. I was wondering if I picked up an express firewire 6-pin card would that be enough to power the ProFire by itself? I'm thinking it would be fine since it would be drawing power from the laptop but I'd rather check here first being blowing the cash.

Here's the card I'm thinking about: http://microcenter.com/product/29856...ExpressCard-34

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Projectmix Unknown Firewire Device w/ Pops and Clicks

$

I've owned this device for about 5 years or so using it daily.

I've troubleshot through every one of the Driver install options listed on your site and most forums. I've also troubleshot my Macpro. I've reset the PRAM/VRAM, Ran Disk Utility, Disk Permissions, Installed the Combo Update and Extra Updates to name a few. I've made sure to follow the correct order of shut down, Plug in, Power up ProjectMix, Turn on computer all in succession to avoid HotPlugging. I've tried different ports on the computer with 4 different FW400 cables all with the following same results.

Here is the issue as it stands:
The MacPro under System Profiler/Firewire lists the Projectmix as 'Unknown Device' and when turned on results only in popping and clicking. I've experienced this when I first bought this interface and worked through it by buying a DEDICATED PCI Firewire card for the PMIO. This was because it was sharing the original MacPro Firewire with Hard Drives @ the time but that was back in 2008. I no longer am so silly to run sessions off of an external drive. In these 2013 recent turn of events, I've thoroughly looked through your forums for people who have similar issues but everyone's PMIO's who crackles and pops, IS RECOGNIZED BY THEIR COMPUTER AS PROJECTMIX. Where mine is listed as listed in System Profiler as 'Unknown device 400MB/Sec'. Also not recognized by the newly downloaded software/driver set.
I would normally point to the driver to be this issue but after countless tries installing/shutdown/plug in/ power on PM IO/Turn on MacPro to an unsufficient result listed above. Then repeat...............Uninstall/Shutdown/Unpower/Unplug/Restart MacPro etc.........
I fail to recognize the current driver as being the issue here.

I DO NOTICE that when PMIO powered up WITHOUT the firewire cable connecting to the computer that the 8 mic-pre green lights illuminate. They do not illuminate when the PMIO IS in fact FW connected to the Computer. This is when the crackling happens and I'm yet to see the PMIO become 'seen' as itself instead of an 'Unknown Device'

I'm at a point now 24 hours of Troubleshooting my entire system and need help. I know this port is a known issue as there are many others whom are experiencing this issue.

It is conclusive to me that the Projectmix IO has indeed a failed FW Port.
This guy says to buy a whole Firewire board for install roughly $100

How much is this to repair or is that covered by M-Audio?

Here are a small few amount of forums I've used as guides to my own issue:

profire 610 troubleshooting

greets folks, i'm having issues I need help with.
my 610 is acting funny. i've used it with success in the past. i haven't really used it much lately but i'm trying to get back into it. i haven't changed anything in the setup i had when it worked. just got a couple new mics to test out.

i open up garageband (for now) to do a mic test and everything sounds warbly and slightly distorted no matter what i do. along with intermittent pops. i could just be sitting doing nothing, reading a forum post and get a random pop.
it doesn't seem to be a clipping or levels issue. this happens with the 2 mics i have now, and they worked when i tested them before purchase,

same issue also when i plug a guitar in and use amplitube. just warbly sound and weird distortion.

now, i'm using a condenser for the mic tests. i have the phantom power on. doing the test, getting weird sound so i turn the phan power off, and the mic slowly fades out (which is fine). but then i leave the unit on as the sound card and toss some music on and i still get those intermittent pops, even with the mic off and nothing else plugged in, and even with no music on....? what gives?

what are some things i could try to troubleshoot?

I currently use the ProjectMix I/O and am fairly happy with it. Does anyone know if the projectmix control software that it comes with has ever been updated? If so, where can I get the update? My application version is 1.00.5 The software doesn't appear to be available anywhere except on the original install CD.

Thanks,
John

Profire 2626 TSR Line input no signal!

hi all,

i just bought an sansamp RBI. I've read in the manual that when using the jack input on the back of the profire 2626 the build-in preamp can be bypassed. ive connected the RBI via XLR out to the TRS jack input on the back of the profire. but this gives me no signal at all. i've already tried popping the 20 db pad and turning volume all the way up.

when i connect the RBI to the XLR input of the profire i do get signal. but sometimes with a realy poor signal/noise ratio.

is there something i've overlooked ?

thanks in advance

Projectmix randomly drops audio output OSX 10.6.8

I've had this similar problem with other m-audio interfaces, and not with the same computer. Everything will load up ok, but then after about 3-30 min, the audio will completely cut out. The digital mixer in Logic still shows output as if nothing had happened., and all the track labels stay loaded on the PMIO. If I shut the PMIO down, the onboard audio kicks on. This happens for all audio output at once, and doesn't see to be specific to any one program. Logic, iTunes, and the M-audio firewire interface, Firefox all drop audio, although it seems to happen faster if I'm bouncing around on websites that have audio. It still happens way too often when Logic is the only thing running. I've tried connecting via the onboard Firewire 400 and Firewire 800 ports, and I don't have anything else plugged into the other Firewire port. I am also running a Mac OEM bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Can't find a way to update the firmware, but I read that doesn't solve connectivity problems anyways

Running:

Macbook Pro
OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
Core 2 Duo 2.33 4gb ram
Firewire (OHCI) TI ID 8025, built in
Projectmix Firmware 9.16.05.A
Running Logic 9.1.8

Thanks!
